It’s been a dream of mine for a long time now to start my own web design company. I’ve freelanced a lot of projects over the years, doing everything from personal websites to company sites, sites for non-profits, and sites for ag operations. It’s always given me a great deal of satisfaction to put together a functional tool that gives individuals and organizations both a voice on the Web, so starting Dragonspire Media is the fulfillment of long-time dream.
Most of the websites I’ve created over the years have been built on the WordPress platform. I’ve always been highly impressed with WordPress as a content management system. It’s user-friendly, powerful, and highly customizable, and what’s more, the company that develops it continues to support it with regular updates and security patches. Every new version provides additional tools for the user while maintaining the sleek, user-friendliness we’ve come to rely on. To say I’m a die-hard fan of WordPress would be an understatement of epic proportions.
But I also recognize that WordPress isn’t necessarily the ideal solution for everyone. I’ve occasionally had a client that has wanted something else for their website. As a result I’ve diversified both my skill set and my portfolio over the years, working on projects built in homebrew PHP, Python (and its Django framework), and just recently Angular.
